We have been busy, busy, busy this week! This week we read, "The Dot". The kids really enjoyed the book and all the fun activities to go along with it. This book is all about self expression, and the kids got to express themselves through art quite a bit this week! Enjoy the pictures, they had a blast! We hit math pretty hard this week and the students enjoyed doing a lot of collaborative activities and loved getting to really utilize our amazing smart board! In remembrance of Patriots Day , we drew Thank-You pictures to honor of our brave men and women firefighters, police officers, and soldiers. It was a super busy week, but we had fun and learned a lot!

As we continue our introduction into Math, we have moved on to shape sorting, counting, and matching! The students really enjoyed getting with their learning partners this morning and playing "Match It Up"! This is a fun game that helps students identify shapes and practice their counting and grouping skills! We summed up our week with a beginning sound sorting activity! The kids loved it and they did an awesome job!
We did it! Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom Week was a success! I LOVE this week! I love using this book to teach and the kiddos love learning with it! They especially had a great time this week with retelling and story sequencing!
Hey, did y'all know we had an eclipse Monday? Just kidding! Here's some pictures of the kiddos getting ready! We had a good time with it, even though it was a little difficult for them to "get it" and they got a bit bored with NASA's live feed...so, we went and ran around in the gym...much more interesting for a kindergartener!
I'm super excited to begin another year here at JLCCS! My class is AMAZING and we are going to have an awesome year! Here are some pics from the first day! Thank you, Thank you Maddie Ray!!! Maddie was kind enough to donate her time and energy to take these for our kiddos! They turned out amazing! Dr. Seuss week has come to an end and we have had a blast! Thank you to all the parents who helped make all this a success, the kids have had so much fun with it! This was by far the kid's favorite book and activity! After we read The Cat in The Hat, the students had to write about how they would get the Cat in the Hat to leave if he came to their house. The things they came up with were hilarious! We made our
Thing 1 and Thing 2s while the kids wrote their stories...so fun! I absolutely LOVE this book! The kids had an awesome time making their hot air balloons and they got a kick out of the pictures of themselves! I can't wait to use these again at the end of the year for a very special project ;)
